Just when I’m really on board to focus on my novel writing, I run across this article about writing in Hollywood as an author. I mean it makes sense! L.A. is a movie town so anything not pertaining to the movies I don’t imagine will fair well w/out some CREATIVE marketing. It’s not that I plan to move out to L.A. I mean I used to live in SoCal for 1/3 of my life.
I can write from Dallas, at least when it comes to books. For now I’m situated. Still this information was enlightening. I knew it subsconsciously but it didn’t really hit home until I read this.
I do hope to write for TV one day, author a few books but my overall goal is to be the black ‘nancy meyers’. LOL JUST KIDDING. I have no idea what she’s like personally, of course, but seriously i like her work. I like how she kicks out a film every 1-2 years. I don’t really care for directing, but writing & producing maybe even acting in some of my work, would be ideal.
Anyway…. so far I have the ‘rough draft’ of the 2nd book cover, and I’m just finalizing some things and still… looking for a 2nd editor. if you know of an editor, a REALLY good but reasonably priced one, send them my way. Also if you’re an author in L.A or NY show some love & let us know what the market is like in those areas.
Here’s the link. Have a GREAT weekend!
