I just didn’t get a response AT ALL, from the first lit agent I submitted a query to. That’s part of the biz, and honestly you’re lucky if you get a rejection cause at least you got a response. LOL Seriously, it can take time for some agents & publishers to sort through queries and get back to you if they do. But I’ve put a cap of 4 weeks of waiting to move on to the next. Granted I have a LIST of preferred agents that I’m submitting to and that required RESEARCH! So be sure to do your homework, research the agency, take a look at some of their clients, get feedback and move forward.
So it’s back to the drawing board. In the mean time I just got the cover art concept of my first book cover as I will be self-publishing my book of collective works (for the experience) and while waiting on responses for the fiction novels. So far so GOOD. I’m really Excited about my first book of collective works but NERVOUS TOO. Still it’s moving along nicely.
If you’re big into literature or appreciate creative writing some poets I recommend are Langston Hughes, Nikki Giovanni and Robert Frost. Right now it’s all about me getting the ISBN numbers, Assumed Named Certificate at this point. I’ve picked a printing company so… We’ll see.
For writers thinking about getting self-published, that’s a WHOLE mountain to climb, but you can climb it one step at a time. One of the steps is finding a book designer. So when you’re ready and need a book cover design at competitive price, check out WOW’d by Him Design Studios
keep writing!
