Do you feel the Grammy’s should be based on talent & creative work or should it also be based on professionalism and public imagery? I ask because of famed daughter of legendary singer, Nat King Cole’s red carpet remarks about Amy Winehouse, not deserving the 5 Grammy wins because of her disruptive behavior and drug problems. Some ask was Natalie being professional on the red carpet to speak of her opinion?
Honestly, I bought Amy’s CD prematurely BECAUSE of the song Rehab. I thought she was going to be another Christina Aguilera, Joss Stone or Nikka Costa. NO she was not. However, I did like a couple of her songs. Of course she’s in a different ‘be-bop’ musical genre than the aforementioned female artists. Still, talent is talent, BUT —- do I feel she deserved 5 GRAMMY’s? Heck 2 Da Naw! Not really, but definitely at least one for the song Rehab. I did like the song and her brooding, ecclectic personna depicted in the video.
What are your views, should the Grammy’s consider more than the creative/ physical talent when issuing the awards?
Here’s a link to Natalie’s statement, courtesy of yahoo news. Also, I don’t know much about the actor Roy Schieder except for his legacy as the main character of Jaws. So it’s more of the fact that, he starred in a movie that’s an American classic. For more info about his life & death visit: Yahoo News: Roy Schieder
