Repost 10/19/07: Sports Diva’s Fanaddicts!

Let me tell ya. There was nothing pretty about them Cowboys at Buffalo last night, particularly quarterback Tony Romo, in Orchard Park, NY. His performance last night was nothing to write home about.

It was butt. Mildew. Throwing four interceptions in the first half and turning the ball over another two times (including a fumble in the third quarter) in the second half won’t get anybody on the right side of the record books. It was like he used Parkay Butter for lotion on those hands of his- pre-game. Ugly.

But give him credit. After more than 50 minutes at the humble pie buffet, Romo was able to hit Patrick Crayton for a score. Though they missed the 2-point conversion, the successful onside kick led to Romo hitting Terrell Owens to set up the game winner.

A different stroke by Nick Folk. A rookie kicker out of Arizona bailed them out (maybe even re-opening contract talks for later for Romo), kicking a 53 yard field goal to keep the Cowboys at a perfect 5-0. Not once, but twice since Bills Coach Dick Jauron called a timeout under his breath. Lucky for the Cowboys, having a kicker with a good foot and a nicely aligned intestinal tract (some guts), it didn’t matter. It was good!
